Losing Old Friends and Finding a New One – Brian Day
We were delighted to hear in March from one of our “Lifers” Brian Day whose story appears in “A Green Thought – Brian Day“. It was Brian who told us that another of our subjects, his long standing friend Walter Grenier, had died in late 2015. Brian has been in contact with Walter’s wife Anita and also updates us on another sad loss …. and new arrival in the Day household!

Dear Helen,
I wrote to Anita just before Walter’s funeral and said I would contact her at a later date, which I will do later this month, I will of course keep you informed of any news.
Our Golden Wedding was lovely there is super restaurant in Liskeard called Tapenades it is highly rated. We booked it for the evening for our event and treated 22 of our friends to a night of fine food and wine.
Helen sorry for any delay in answering, life here has been very hectic. Maureen had replacement knee surgery 6 weeks ago but this remarkable lady is now driving again and back at work. Of course my nursing and cooking etc. helped – ha ha
After our Dog Jess died a few weeks ago we were so upset and vowed no more Dogs for at least a year. This vow lasted 4 weeks – the house felt so empty and we now have another rescue Jack Russell called Nina. She is 5 yrs old and has not had an easy life, but we will change that. She has settled in beautifully, and like us is enjoying the change in the weather, we hope to visit Derby later in the year to visit relatives , and are also off to Spain with our friends in late April to their lovely Villa and to Jerez for the Moto GP.
I loved the Alvaston and Boulton School photo – wow! so many years ago. I never realised you also went to the same School but many years later than me.
Best Regards,
Brian and Maureen
