Unexamined Lives – Be Part Of It!
Unexamined Lives is now an established part of Borrowash living history. We’ve been delighted at the enthusiasm from people who have lived here past and present and please keep the contacts coming!
We were delighted to be awarded funding from the Heritage Lottery of £36,400 in October 2012. The project is now fully underway and potential volunteers are crucial to its success!’ (click here for press release).

We need volunteers of all types, ages and sizes! If you are a school or university student, this could be the place to develop your heritage skills in lots of ways.
We need help with:
- Interviews
- Bright ideas for community engagement projects and assistance at these
- Transcription of tapes
- Help with our website Community outreach – extending the project to residential homes; schools; community groups
- Art and design. We hope to have an exhibition at Erewash Museum. Can you help with dramatic re-constructions and displays?
AND WE NEED PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO SHARE THER MEMORIES WITH US UNDER THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:
- Women’s lives, family, relationships, maternity and work
- The world of work
- Educational opportunities
- First World War contacts
- Housing and transport
- People who have connections with the village from 1970 onwards, growing up.
